Toast is obviously one of food stylist Adeline Waugh's favorite canvases. Just look at these beauties:
The woman behind food blog Vibrant and Pure is all about turning a basic meal into a beautiful work of culinary artwork, and that's just what she's done with one of her most soothingly magical creations yet: mermaid toast.
Shades of sea-foam green, blue and white swirl together on top of her toast to create edibles waves that give us chill beach vibes just looking at them on Instagram, and the gold leaf that she sprinkled on top of her gorgeous creation definitely takes the whimsy up a notch.
So, how'd Waugh whip up such a fanciful piece of toast? Turns out, the main ingredient used for the wave coloring totally goes along with the aquatic theme!
"I used a variety of blue green algae powders and liquids mixed with almond milk cream cheese to create this ocean inspired toast," she wrote on her Instagram.
This isn't the first time Waugh has created a beautiful slice of toast named for a mythical creature. Her first colorful toast concoction came about when she posted this rainbow brite beauty, and dubbed it "unicorn toast." It was a huge hit, and it inspired her to keep the mythical creature-inspired breakfast up!
If you're feeling adventurous one morning and want to try your hand at unicorn toast, she's got instructions up on her website here!
